Hale stood quietly at the back, not wanting to draw attention to herself. There was a new girl in the lesson who had only just joined the school and Hale did not want to embarrass herself in front of the class by giving the wrong answer. Hale was quite timid, she had been told by many a teacher in the muggle world that she would not go far in life with her attitude, but that was how she liked it. Why go out of your way to change something when it is fine as is? That was her motto.
So Hale stood in the corner listening to the teachers warning about the creatures not being called animals, and asking questions about the House Elves that everybody knew used to be represented by none other than Hermione Granger, the witch who had started the House elf revolution. She had gone completely against Hale's motto, and yet Hale admired her. Hale would never have the courage to do something like that. Hermione was her hero.
So naturally, when something about her cropped up, she started to pay more attention, seeing whether everybody had got it right. After all, Hale probably knew more about her than most people.
